**** Sat, 04/3/10 - 9:45 PM (CDT) - USA falls to Canada - 5-4 in overtme. It was a great time. USA takes home the silver.

Friday, April 2nd, 2010 (Good Friday)
**** Fri, 04/2/10 - 11:00 PM (CDT) - USA defeats Sweden, 5-0 in the semi-finals. Lyndsey picked up an assist early in the first period for USA's second goal; and then scored USA's fifth and final goal of the game in the third period. Good job Lu! The girls played well and Sweden didn't go easy. The girls had reason the celebrate the win.
**** Fri, 04/2/10 - 6:15 PM (CDT) - Heading to the rink for the big semi-final game. Team USA vs Sweden. Go USA!
**** Fri, 04/2/10 - 3:30 PM (CDT) - Big trip into downtown Chicago, tried to go to the Shedd Aquarium but way too many people. Took a nice drive on Lakeshore and ended up at Wrigley Field for lunch. Go Cubs! Big game tonight, Team USA vs Sweden.
**** Fri, 04/2/10 - 9:00 AM (CDT) - Just helped my Mom send an e-mail to our relatives in Sweden, letting them know that Team USA is playing Team Sweden tonight. We love you Kjell and Ulla, but Go USA!!!

**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 10:15 PM (CDT) - Had nice dinner with Lyndsey at TGI Fridays. Toured the suburbs trying to find a grocery store. Wow!!! Not as easy as it sounds.
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 6:30 PM (CDT) - Team USA to play Sweden in the semi-finals tomorrow night at 7:30pm (CDT). Go USA!
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 6:00 PM (CDT) - Taking Lyndsey out to dinner tonight.
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 5:00 PM (CDT) - Congratulations to Arizona standout, Luke Moffatt, for being named to Team USA Men's U18 yesterday. Go USA!!! Go Arizona!!!
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 3:00 PM (CDT) - Picked Lyndsey up at her hotel and brought her to ours for some family fun.
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 1:30 PM (CDT) - Wes arrived safely and we all headed to Portillo's Hotdog for lunch. Mmmmm! Dumb tourists!
**** Thu, 04/1/10 - 11:00 AM (CDT) - Lyndsey has practice at 12:30 PM, we are headed to pick up Wes at O'Hare airport. What an adventure, the Fry's rock Chicago. Special thanks to Brian and Jane Chugg for taking care of the boy and getting him on the plane.

**** Wed, 03/31/10 - 5:00 PM (CDT) - We were invited to a parents event tonight starting with a nice dinner a Buca di Beppo's and on over to the Lucky Strike for some bowling. What a great time with really nice, very fun people. Lynne and both won some free game with strikes with the lucky red head pin.
**** Wed, 03/31/10 - 1:00 PM (CDT) - Picked Grammy & Papa up at the airport, heading back to Downers Grove.
**** Wed, 03/31/10 - 10:00 AM (CDT) - Heading to pick up Grammy and Papa from Rockford.

**** Tue, 03/30/10 - 10:45 PM (CDT) - Team USA defeats the Czech Republic 15-0. Lyndsey picked up USA's second of the game with a backhander off the face-off. Nice goal. USA was too much for the Czechs this year. We stayed around to visit with some of the parents from the team and met some great people. Pictured below is Lyndsey (left) with Team USA defenseman Marissa Gedman who will also be attending Harvard in the fall. I also added a picture of Lyndsey and her Mom.
**** Tue, 03/30/10 - 1:45 PM (CDT) - Team USA had a great practice this morning, nice lunch and now it's time for a nap. We won't see Lyndsey until after tonight's game. GO USA!
**** Tue, 03/30/10 - 11:45 AM (CDT) - Lyndsey posted some photos on her Facebook earlier this week that I thought I would share. All of the teams are staying in the same hotel so Lyndsey has made lots of new friends. Here is a couple of shots with Team Japan and Team Sweden.
**** Tue, 03/30/10 - 10:15 AM (CDT) - Game day, Czech Republic tonight at 7:30 PM (CDT) - Not sure if we are going to get to see Lyndsey before the game, they have practice and some meetings throughout the day. Maybe after lunch. Beautiful weather in Chicago today, nice and sunny.

**** Mon, 03/29/10 - 9:45 PM (CDT) - Just finished a nice evening with Lyndsey and her former Colorado teammate Jordan Slavin and family. Jordan plays defense for Team USA and also for the University of North Dakota. It has been great to see Jordan and her family again. Tomorrow is a game day so the girls need to get back to business and beat the Czech Republic big. More fun tomorrow. Go USA!
**** Mon, 03/29/10 - 2:15 PM (CDT) - No game today - The girls had a light stretch this morning and a team builder on the soccer field. We picked Lyndsey up for lunch and then brought her back to our hotel room for a nap. We will likely get to have dinner with her this evening as well. Good down time away from the rink. Quick pic from our lunch outing...Lynne faced off with one of the Canadians in the our hotel parking lot. Pretty intense stare down, and a preview of the upcoming Gold medal game.

**** Sun, 03/28/10 - 10:45 PM (CDT) - Well, game 2 is in the books. 5-0 shut-out against Finland. Finland was very physical and came out hard. Less then 2 minutes into the game, we found ourselves on the a 5 on 3 penalty kill, it was difficult to see how this game was going to go. Everything settled down later in the period and so did the penalties. 0-0 through the first, USA struck early in the second and put a total of three goals in for the period. Two more in the third. Aside from a penalty, Lyndsey didn't get on the scoresheet but she played well. A couple great steals and solid defensive play. She put about six shoots on net but couldn't break thru. She was upbeat after the win and excited for the day-off tomorrow. One very notable play was an awesome glove save by goaltender Alex Rigsby, the Finns had an open net and Alex snatched a goal away from them with an unbelievable save. Nice job Alex! Go USA! Next game is on Tuesday 3/30/10.
**** Sun, 03/28/10 - 3:45 PM (CDT) - Just going through some pictures from last nights game. Nice one of the girls during the national anthem.
**** Sun, 03/28/10 - 1:30 PM (CDT) - Picked Lyndsey up for lunch. Went to Jimmy John's sandwiches, one of her favorites. Team USA had a sweat practice this morning. Lyndsey came back to our hotel for a couple of hours to take a nap. We will head back to her hotel in a while. Nice to have her with us even if she is sleeping. Team USA will head to the rink at 4:00pm (CDT) and game time is 7:30 PM (CDT), Team USA vs Team Finland. Go USA!!!

**** Sat, 03/27/10 - 10:00 PM (CDT) - Team USA defeats Japan 11-1. Lyndsey's played well and picked up a goal to make it 3-0 in the 2nd period.
*** Sat, 03/27/10 - 6:00 PM (CDT) - Getting ready to head to the rink for 7:30 PM (CDT) game. Go USA!
***Sat, 03/27/10 - 3:00 PM (CDT) - Had a nice flight into Rockford and drive into Chicago. Went to Lyndsey's hotel and dropped off some clothes she needed. She is ready to go and excited for tonights game.
